Taking Care Of Pets In Warm Weather

Posted by: admin In: Pet Care

There are many things you need to think about when it comes to pets in the summer as they can get seriously injured when it comes to the heat. Here are some tips on looking after your pet in the harsh summer sun.

Never leave it in the car

So the sun is out and your pet is not looking that happy about you going out without it, surely this means it is a good idea to take the pet with you when you go out for errands or other such things. This is not a good idea at all because the inside of the car can actually reach 120 degrees in a few minutes and this is even if you are parked in the shade. So what is the problem with this?

Cats and Dogs do not have the ability to perspire, in fact they can only let out heat through panting and the pads on their feet. Of course there is no way they can pant if there is no air in the car. Leaving a pet alone in a hot car for a few minutes could result in heat stroke, brain damage or even death. even sticking the air conditioning on in the car is not going to solve this problem.

In terms of options the best thing to do is fill the bowl up with water at home and not be out for too long.

So many people take their pets out more in the summer, and this is why the summer months are where the most pets are lost. In case your pet does go missing you need to have them tagged so you can find them.

You need to make sure that you choose the right vets when it comes to your pet and the right Sussex vets and choosing one that can do animal medicine and animal ultrasound is very important indeed.

  • Nathaniel: It is important to protect your pet against fleas and ticks. One way to do this is to apply
  • cat brush: The tools on the market today such as the furminator make it so easy to groom your cat. I no longer go to professional groomers.
  • Jodi Adams: I agree, it's always good to research and understand the pets needs before getting one. They are also great companionship for seniors. Cheers Jod
